M-MuLV Reverse Transcriptase

Copy Right © 2001/ Institute of Molecular Development LLC

M-MLV RT (Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus Reverse Transcriptase) is an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase requiring a DNA primer and a RNA template to synthesize a complementary DNA strand. The enzyme is a product of the pol gene of M-MuLV and consists of a single subunit with a molecular weight of 7l kDa. M-MuLV RT has a weaker intrinsic RNase H activity than Avian Myeloblastosis Virus (AMV) reverse transcriptase which is important for achieving long full-length complementary DNA (>7kb).
