Copy Right © 2001/ Institute of Molecular Development LLC

AMV (Avian Myeloblastosis Virus) Reverse Transcriptase is a DNA polymerase that uses DNA, RNA or RNA: DNA hybrids as a template. It requires a primer and Mg2+ or Mn2+ for activity. The avian enzyme possesses an intrinsic ribonuclease H activity. Both nonionic detergents and sulfhydryl compounds stabilize the enzyme activity in vitro.
